About Me

Hello, I'm Rebecca, a psychotherapeutic counsellor, or therapist, based in Didcot, Oxfordshire.

I offer a compassionate, non-judgmental and confidential space for counselling. Counselling can give you time and space to be heard and to tell your story. It can help you understand how you have got to where you are in your life, who you are, and what you value. It can help you to decide what direction you want to go in, and what steps you would like to take first.

Whether you are facing challenges in your relationships, struggles with mental health, or want to focus on identity and life transitions, my approach is centred around you and your experiences. I am experienced in different ways of working as a counsellor, and will tailor our sessions to fit your needs.

I often work with people who seem to be coping on the outside but feel overwhelmed on the inside. They may be driven, perfectionistic, or constantly striving. I also offer support to neurodivergent clients, including those experiencing autistic burnout, as well as family members or friends who want to have better relationships with neurodivergent individuals. I have Autism Affirming Therapist training and accreditation that has been provided by the Autistic Wellbeing Project.

I have experience working with people who are exploring doubts or questions about their faith or spirituality, and I provide a reflective space for those who have left a faith or who have experienced abuse in a faith context. My approach allows you to reflect on your beliefs (or lack thereof) gently, without pressure or agenda.

I am experienced in working with children and young people and I can offer sessions online, or in-person in Didcot or Wantage to children and teenagers. Young people might be struggling with anxiety, stress or low mood, questions around their identity, difficulties within the family or with other relationships, or they may want help in another area. I offer a safe and confidential space that allows young people to explore the challenges that they are facing without fear of judgement.

The most important aspect of therapy is that you find the right counsellor for you. If you are interested in working with me you can book a free 30-minute online call. We can discuss what brings you to counselling and what help you are looking for, you can ask me any questions you might have, and we can explore if I am the right counsellor for you. If you decide that you would like to work with me, we could then choose to start regular work together.

Regular sessions are typically 50 minutes long and take place on a weekly basis at the same time.  I offer in-person sessions from three locations: an office in central Didcot near the railway station, a calm, confidential space in my home in South Didcot, and from rooms in Wantage (at Mercure Counselling on Newbury Street). I can usually find a time and location that suits you. I also offer online sessions. I work in an open-ended way, which means that there is no minimum length of time you need to see me for, and I won't decide that we are finished after a certain number of sessions - it is something that you are in control of and that we would discuss together.
